Wordless Wednesday (1): Blue Shadow

Very strange-looking indeed. Is this done by photo editing or is this a natural shot? Did you take it in Monterey? 🙂

Very little editing, just some sharpening of contrast. The opposing hill was in deep shade as contrasted with the land that still had sunlight on it. You can see how the south facing hill has no snow left on it whereas the North facing hill still has remnants of snow. This was taken in late afternoon, in the Blue Grass Valley.

Well, it certainly is a fascinating photo, Annette. I bet it’s still pretty up there in the mountains, even at this time of year.

Thanks, Cathy. We got snow but it will be melting over the weekend, with rain and warm temps. Just as well – can’t wait to get rid of all that ice in our driveway!

I’m sure you’ll be happy to have your driveway clear. It’s supposed to really warm up here this weekend too; strange how we had snow so early and then, right at Christmas, it’s balmy!!

Very cool picture! You can see why they call the mountains the blue ridge mountains not far from where you are.
