On Shiny Wings

Shiny, blurry wings over the pond:

  2. Amazing captures, Annette! These shiny creatures really speak to summer, don’t they? I love the 12 spotted skimmer on the cattail. And those blue damselflies and the Damselfly Kama Sutra — very cool. 🙂

    • Thank you, Cathy. The skimmer on the cattail is my favorite. I tried walking around the pond to get it from the other side but the creature flew away before I could get there. Dragonflies and damselflies really do capture the essence of summer here.

Beautiful shots. When we were kids, we called these “sewing needles” and the rumor on the playground was that if you used a swear word, they would come along and sew your lips shut! The things we believed then!!!

Beautiful! I especially like the shot of the two dragonflies in flight. Not an easy image to capture.
