Minimalism (II)

Albuquerque, New Mexico, is a fascinating city to visit. The Old Town district is full of interesting architecture, stores competing for customers with beautiful displays and riotous colors, and museums and structures attesting to the city’s historical roots.
However, given the “minimalist” theme of this week’s photo challenge, I have chosen several images which feature one main subject conveying a distinct mood or feeling.

Minimalist only in that one color is predominant, the decorations and striking blue color of these doors make for strong impact:

A girl is about to enter the gates to her school projecting expectancy and positive energy:

While further down the street, an old woman walks slowly with a cane, eyes downcast, not expecting much from this day:

Nearby, a sycamore tree with colorful bark grows out of the sidewalk, firmly grounded:

Altogether, their minimalism produces a rich mosaic of my morning stroll through Old Town Albuquerque that day:
