My interpretation of “Minimalism” consists of limiting the number of elements in the image. I am playing with rock themes, all taken in Canyon de Chelly, one of my favorite places on earth.
Rock and Lichen:
I call this blue growth “Bird poop lichen,” for obvious reasons:
My very favorite “Rock and Lichen” minimalist image:
Rock and Water
Rock and Sky:
Rock and Lizard:
Another way to honor the theme “minimalism” is to minimize my verbal commentary. The pictures should speak for themselves.
Nice extra terrestrial image…

I was surprised, too, to see those brilliantly colored lichen on those red rocks. When I saw the blue spots from a distance, I really thought it was bird poop!

Yes, it is amazing to see all the things that can grow on rocks! Add color to it, and you’ve got a party…(at least for a photographer) 🙂

That lizard is so perfectly camouflaged on the rocks, really hard to see when it doesn’t move.
