Somewhere in the Southwestern part of Iceland…
A crater filled with blue water rippled by merciless winds…..green vegetation touched by autumn warmth spilling down the brown and red cone-shaped walls.
Tiny elf people hike along the crater rim; some ventured way down to the water’s edge.
The DP Weekly Photo Challenge: Tiny.
Excellent view of perspective on the size of the crater!

Yes, the tiny people really help define the crater’s vastness.

Hello Annette. I don’t understand why I keep losing touch with you. Recently I’ve come across your avatar in the other places I wander about in – Jambo Robyn’s and on Swarn Gill’s blogs. So I thought it was high time I got myself over here directly. And jolly well worth it, as ever. I find craters alluring and terrifying all at once – the evidence of the greater earth power! And these are fine shots. I now need to backtrack through your posts π

I’ve been in the same situation, Tish, and have not kept up with the newest post of people I follow. Just too much going on right on that is also demanding attention. Interesting – but not surprising – that we end up following the same blogs π

Annette, I’m going to be spending a few days in Hafnarfjordur in May when I visit Iceland and it is, as I’m sure you know, considered to be the Town of the Hidden People. The AirBnB I’ll be staying at, with wonderful hosts that I’m already getting to know (they are naturopaths!), is very near some of the lava caves and formations where the hidden people have been known to frequent. I am quite serious about this folkway: I do not consider it to be fanciful or ridiculous in the slightest. I think that the Faerie World, which in some form or other is part of virtually every culture, is most likely as existential as the Human World may be.

I have no doubt that these elemental forces exist; maybe you’ll be lucky to catch a glimpse?
