The package came yesterday, not too small, not too big. It was addressed to me and my husband, but only our first names. Huh?
The return address was Cocoa and Honey in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I only know one person in Nova Scotia and her name is neither Cocoa nor Honey. She had just sent me a Christmas e-mail and mentioned her cat’s name. What was that cat’s name again? Don’t think it came from her. Do I know an interracial couple in Nova Scotia – Cocoa and Honey, sounds so sweet.
But wait, what if this was camouflage and someone who doesn’t like me sent something dangerous? I have been opening my mouth a lot lately about certain political issues… what if? Nah, you are being too paranoid. Just open the box!
Oh my – a box full of chocolates! Not just any chocolate, but organic and fair-trade and handcrafted. Aha, Cocoa and Honey is an artisan chocolate maker in Halifax. Ok, but who gifted this to us?
We figured it out, even though the sender’s name was misspelled! Thank you, Z.!
I couldn’t help play with these beautiful chocolates and make them look as gorgeous and tempting as they taste.
Merry Xmas Annette!

You should defiantly try the Tony Chocolonely chocolate bars. They are not only better because of providing 100% slave-free chocolate, but also for having the most delicious chocolate bars! They have various tastes: from milk chocolate with caramel and sea salt until dark cherry meringue. Itβs FAIR-licious!

Aha, thanks for the recommendation, Elevator Girl! I’m sure this is a typo but I may try to “defiantly” approach a new chocolate bar. I’m sure attitude has a lot to do with our enjoyment of chocolate π LOL

Yes! Here in the Netherlands we don’t have that many Fair-Trade chocolate bars. The caramel and sea salt is my favourite chocolate + Fair Trade. I’m both a chocolate and Fair Trade lover!! So Tony’s Chocolonely is something you ‘defiantly’ should try haha

There is a store in the city of Richmond, Virginia, that sells only chocolate, rows and columns of it, all different brands. That’s where I was introduced to brands I’d never heard of before and that only now are finding their way onto the supermarket shelves. Tony’s is probably one of those…organic and fair-trade is very important to me. I can’t bear the idea of something so delicious having been gained from the suffering of children, or anyone else for that matter.
