After weeks of lackluster fall colors, the final few glorious autumn days gifted us with a brilliant palette of colors.
Wochenlang waren die Herbstfarben langweiling und glanzlos. Aber die letzten paar herrlichen Herbsttage beschenkten uns mit einer brillanten Farbenpalette.
I like nothing more than standing below the tree canopy when sunlight sets the leaves ablaze. Whether the tree bathes me in a singular color,
Ich liebe es unter dem Blätterdach zu stehen, wenn das Sonnenlicht die Blätter anzündet. Ob der Baum mich in eine einzige Farbe badet,
or shows off a variety of different colors
oder mit vielen verschiedenen Farben protzt
really doesn’t matter. I like them all.
ist mir gleichgültig. Mir gefällt alles.
My eye is drawn to shape and color
Mein Auge wird von Form und Farbe angezogen
and lines
und Linien
And who can resist a tree that drops its gold seductively all over the place?
Und wer kann schon einem Baum widerstehen, der sein Gold verführerisch hinfallen lässt?

I’ve not seen much color in my area yet, I live in Central CA. So your show is a nice glimpse into the beauty of autumn. Thanks.

Ours looked really lame for about a month. Then several nights of a hard frost really got the leaves glowing….but the entire show is over this week. It was nice while it lasted 🙂

Thanks for the beautiful autumn tour. 🙂 Our colors have just gotten more vivid too with rain.

You are welcome, Brad. Most of our leaves are down now, but it is comforting to drive somewhere else, another county at a lower elevation, and see fall colors – sort of an extended fall season.

British native trees, on the whole, don’t go in for big colourful shows, so it’s lovely to share yours, Annette.

Those trees need to learn how to go all out….

Your photos evoke two primary responses: admiration and envy. Sigh. Even traveling to see fall foliage isn’t a guarantee. I have several friends who ried that this year, and arrived either too early, or two late. Thanks for these glimpses of being there at just the right time!

Annette, this is just what I needed to see today. I miss the fall colors so much. Gorgeous. We just returned from a trip to Guatemala and I bought so much fabric with these colors in them. I am definitely a fall color kind of gal.

The special place in our world during the fall color period is definitely to be in the forest consuming the magnificent feeling.

Hello Nomzi – thanks for asking. Doing well and very busy with this transition into winter, securing land and property…also thinking about winter escapes from the cold 🙂 And you?

I prepare for my concert and I am learning a lot. Quite a bit of admin. I must say. I will post the date soon. 🙂
Good luck with the property investment and the winter escape plans. Have a great day. 🙂

Wonderful. I only sing in the shower or the car when no one can hear me. I used to take djembe lessons when I still lived in the Washington DC area but now I am a long way from the nearest drum teachers where I am now….
