A recent weekend visit to a local park showed kids doing what most kids do best: moving their little bodies and playing to their hearts’ content.

This reminds me that it’s been much too long since I played gleefully myself….
Ailsa’s Travel Theme this week is: Youngsters.
It is a joy to watch little ones play with the all without a care in the world. Just enjoying the moment and being in the moment of play….sweet!

Yes, that being in-the-moment thing while entirely un-selfconscious is what we typically unlearn as we become adults.

Oh, to be young again is so right! Great candid shots, Annette. Speaking of wanting to be young again, I’m leaving for the states soon and I need to take my driver’s license for an ID. I put my expired driver’s license in my purse because if the police stop us for a “suspected” violation, they usually take our drivers’ licenses and we have to go to the police station to get them back and pay the fines. I hid my new license so well, and I can’t remember where I put it. I’ve been searching for days. Oh boy, to be young again is certainly the truth. lol

What a great idea – to use your expired license. I do hope you find the one you need so you can travel. Where will you be in the US?

Annette, we’ll be in Northeast TN and SC. I don’t think you are too far from our house in TN. Have you ever been to Jonesborough, home of the International Storytelling Center? If not, it’s a great place to visit.

I’m about 6 hrs NE of Charlotte, NC – so still quite a ways from the TN/SC corner. I have never been in that area and never heard of an IN Storytelling Ctr – sounds interesting.
If you have reason to come up North into Virginia, let me know. Would love to connect face-to-face. Or maybe we could meet somewhere half way?

I wouldn’t want to go back to my childhood at all, but I would like to develop that more childlike innocence and approach to life. ๐

My brother gave me a birthday card one time with the message “Never grow ALL the way up.” Definitely words to live by – as evidenced by your post. Nicely done!
