Glitter, Shine, and Twinkle – Magical Light

My favorite winter escape is always to places where it’s warmer.  This time it was a short trip to Kiawah Island, just outside of Charleston, South Carolina.  The sun smiled on us the entire time, coloring the horizon with pink and purple bands at the beginning of the day and setting ocean and sand ablaze in orange and gold in the evening.

Throughout the day, lights glinted, twinkled, and shimmered on gentle ocean waves

Also, a great big thank-you to Tina of Travels and Trifles who cheerfully took us to some of her favorite places on Kiawah and introduced us to the alligators.

Absolutely amazing shots for this week’s challenge. I love the sea foam one – that is so creative. You make it look so beautiful😀 Like you, I love going to a warmer place when it’s winter. I’m a summer person. The sunshine and light always makes me feel so energetic, enthusiastic and full of life – and it makes me want to go outside and enjoy what nature has to offer🙂

    • Hi Mabel – yes, yes, yes – sunlight and warm(ish) weather makes me feel energetic and happy as well. Re: photos, it is always interesting how we respond to specific images. Nobody has mentioned the sea foam pic – glad, you and sea foam clicked🙂

Usually it’s the odd little things like sea foam that gets me excited…I’m just weird that way. It reminds me of the suds you get from mixing washing powder with water😀 Looking forward to seeing what else you have to share😉

    • Believe me, I didn’t want to come back to the cold Virginia mountains. Kiawah is a small island off the coast of Charleston, SC. There are many sea islands all the way down into Georgia and Florida…I intend to explore them, winter after winter perhaps?
