It was SO cold this morning (-10 F or -26 C). I tried to do a frozen bubble experiment: blowing soap bubbles into the cold morning air hoping they would freeze before they hit the ground. Then take photographs of the crystals in the bubbles. See this link for my inspiration.
Well, that didn’t go as planned since the bubbles burst too quickly.
Instead, I found some ice crystals on the storm door and had my husband shine a flashlight behind it for the light effects. Enjoy…

We also failed the frozen soap bubble experiment — but did have fun with the boiling water in sub-zero temps! (I posted pics in my last post). Your photos are like intricate stained glass windows — Mother Nature is the best artisan!

It can be, with the right clothing and equipment. But this weather is extremely dangerous, too. A relative of a friend froze to death yesterday when he fell on the ice and couldn’t get back up. That was a very sobering and sad thing to hear…

Oh, I felt sorry for all you Northerners, you got hit extra hard the past few days. I live in the mountains of Virginia and our worst wind chills went down to between -35 and -40 F, but actual temp “only” about Minus 10 F. But way too cold for me….

I think it’s affected the whole USA, either in the south or north. I heard from my friend who lives in Florida, it’s been down to 26 F. They never have that cold.
It’s warm for Midwest but it’s too cold for them.
I hope this extreme cold will be end soonest, and back to normal cold.
